JAY MATAJI… LET’S ROCK! | A Power-Packed Cultural Fiesta
For all those living in their own bubble, forging only “necessary” relationships, weighing every bond on the scale of personal benefit — this film is a loving slap across the cheek. A slap… of pure love.
Old age doesn’t just bend the body — it breaks the soul. It forces the elderly to depend on their grown-up children, who now view relationships through the lens of utility. Yes, life throws us into situations where even our own children become strangers. But when the ones you raised turn into calculated caretakers, what can you expect from the rest of the world?
But then — life has a way of flipping the script.
Sometimes it pushes you out of the line, only to bring you back in line…
This film, Jay Mataji… Let’s Rock!, is a heart-warming, humorous, and truth-bomb-filled ride through just that transformation.

Meet Surajmukhi Ba (Neela Mulhekar), She’s been sent to an old-age home by her two sons (Tikku Talsania and Shekhar Shukla). The reason? A bit of financial crunch, a bit of emotional laziness, and a whole lot of “we can’t manage her right now.”
They even forge her documents so they’re not contacted again. Classy. Then there’s Chandramohan (Utkarsh Mazumdar), Ba’s old flame from her youthful days. Miss Naitik (Vyoma Nandi) is a progressive school principal. Malhar a.k.a. Chunky, son of Tikku Talsania and founder of Hava Badlo.com — a rent-a-crowd kind of social activism group.
For a government rally on senior citizens’ pensions, he gathers a massive crowd.
And just like that — fate hits the fan.

Twist of fate:
Chunky brings Ba home even before the policy is public, sensing something is coming.
The government announces a bombshell policy —
All senior citizens above 80 will receive ₹1 lakh per month as pension!
Suddenly, the same children who dumped their parents at old-age homes come running to “reclaim” them — with tear-filled eyes and sugar-coated apologies. The homes start emptying out.
Ba is at Tikutalsania’s Place but now even Gulab (Shekhar Shukla) too wants her. Sibling rivalry ensues.
But wait… there’s a catch.
But with no valid proof of age — there’s no pension, and there’s no “profit.”To receive the pension, proof of age is required — a valid government document stating the person is 80+. Many elderly people, including Ba, don’t have it.
Now the same children, who fought over keeping their parents, are now fighting over who gets to send them back! The drama flips.

The plot thickens with:
- Chunky and Miss Naitik’s budding romance.
- Chandramohan re-entering Ba’s life after six decades.
- Ba’s sudden memory loss and her mysterious disappearance.
- The two brothers uniting for the sake of their mother.
- A series of bittersweet, laugh-out-loud and tear-jerking twists.
Chunky once again leads a protest — demanding pensions for all elderly, even those without documents. His campaign works, paving way for dignity beyond bureaucracy.
In the end…
Even if the children started caring for selfish reasons — in doing so, they rediscovered the heart in relationships.
Ba and many like her find their way back home. Not just physically, but emotionally too.
Not just the Joshi family — but many are made whole again.

So come… laugh, cry, relate, and reflect.
Celebrate old age, confront modern apathy, and rediscover the meaning of home —
